9-Hole Handicap = ((Handicap Index / 2) x (9-Hole Slope Rating / 113)) + (9-Hole Course Rating) - (9-Hole Par)
In match play, the difference between two players' handicaps is the number of strokes given by one player to another. These strokes are taken at different holes according to the Stroke Index or Rating of each hole on the course.
If Player B is to receive 5 strokes, then the player takes one shot off the actual score at each of the holes with Stroke Index 1 to 5. This gives a net score for each hole, and this is the score used to calculate the result of each hole.
If a player is receiving more than 18 strokes, say 20, and then the player receives one stroke at holes with Stroke Index 1 to 18 and a second stroke at holes with Stroke Index 1 and 2.
The number of shots given or received depends on the format of match play.
Player's 9-hole Playing Handicap (maximum of 18) is used to determine net score on each hole. The 9-hole Playing Handicap is calculated from player's current 18-hole Handicap Index.
The lowest handicap player gives strokes to the other three players based on 100% of the difference between the lowest handicap and that of each player.
Nine-hole handicaps are used for handicap competitions with a high limit of 18.
During regular league play the matches will be four-ball best ball handicap matches. Each team will field two teams of 2 players for each evening of competition. Holes will be decided based on best net score for each side, one point for each hole won and a half point for each hole tied.
Net score is the number of strokes minus allocated Handicap stroke. Winner of each hole will be the team with the best net score of the two players, one match point for win and a half match point for tie. The accumulated (subtotal) match play points plus bonus points plus match points from previous matches determines the total match points of each team. The order of total points is determined with the following scheme:
Nine-hole handicaps are used for handicap competitions with a high limit of 18.
Need Points = (9 x (Points for Par)) - (9-Hole Handicap)
Gross Score | Points |
Double Eagle | 5 |
Eagle | 4 |
Birdie | 3 |
Par | 2 |
Bogey | 1 |
Other | 0 |

Vouchers will be awarded, within each of three handicap ranges, to the player(s) with the highest player quota. No player may win more than two vouchers in any one season.
Following all the evening matches, the team with the highest team quota will be determined. Bonus points will be awarded to the team with the highest team quota. Bonus points are 3.5, 3.0, 2.5, 2.0, 1.5, 1.0, 0.5 and 0.0, for respective highest team quota. The order of bonus points awarded is determined with the following scheme:
